I want to do a simple animated overlay (e.g. the image moving from point A to point B). I have my PNG ready, it's 120x120 however for some reason it takes the whole screen and doesn't appear to be transparent at all even though it is (and yes I checked "transparent background").
So I figured out how to resize the image. Not sure if it's the proper way but I used the Effect called "Scale and Tilt". Anyway now I want to make it actually transparent and animate it. However at the beginning of the animation the image has to be "outside" of the video and slide in from the right. But when I try to Tilt X over 999 Kdenlive crashes! Any help is appreciated. |

Alright I figured out how to fix the transparency (it was more like a bug) and how to do simple animations using "Pan and Rotate".
However I'm still having issues with the image size. If I move the PNG too much to the right or bottom, then part of it starts disappearing. I tried resizing the canvas in Gimp but then I have to scale it to 600% and still have similar issues. I don't get it. Why does my image get cropped if I pan it to the bottom/right? How can I move the png to point X without having parts of my image magically disappearing? |

I've had mixed results using the pan and tilt effect, it seens to be rather picky. From what you wrote what you try to achieve you may want to try the affine transition instead. It is keyframable. Please note that it is a transition, not an effect.

Hello, use Kdenlive Affine transition, there is step by step video "Affine transition - transparent PNG over image"
