Hi,
I have a 1h video clip in which I have appearances of people a few times. I tired auto mask but auto mask wants to analyze the whole clip which takes forever. I also tried using the razor tool to cut the clip in smaller scenes for the auto mask but it still analyzes the whole clip. Is there any good way to blur occasionally appearing people's faces in a long clip? E.g. a keyframeable, manual frame function? -Stefan |

I am surprized that the razoring the clip did not work for you becasue I just tried that myself and it works.
It really should work because you apply the effect to just that razored clip. Right click the clip on the time line and choose add effect>Blur and Hide>Auto Mask. I am on ver 0.9.6 of Kdenlive on Ubuntu 14.04 64bit |

I'll check this again but when I tested it, it started analyzing and the progress bar didn't move in over 10 minutes for a 20s razored piece, so I assumed that it's analyzing the whole 1h clip.

That seems slow. Is is a HD video or a SD video? All my video is SD. I wonder if HD video makes this job very slow.
I think it is a computationaly intensive job though. So we might expect it to be slow. Can you just try the 20sec clip by itself in a project ? |

It's 65min 1080p h.264.
I'll try using the short clip only. |

Are you making use of the proxy clip feature? Because I am thinking that maybe running the Auto Mask job on a proxy clip might run faster. And then when you render your clips in full resolution you should still get you Auto Mask to come into play.
This is all just theory on my part. I have no experience with proxies and AutoMask. |
