Hello all,
I was wondering whether it would be possible to make a video with a transparent background. Some of you might have seen an website where somebody is stepping in to tell you a thing or two. Usually they manage this with .flv (I think) but can this sort of video be made with Kdenlive? And if 'yes', is there a tutorial or is someone willing to explain it here? Thanks in advange, Jurgen |

Oh wait a minute.
Can it be that they do not actually produce a transparent video but that they use the blue screen effect? So, they film the person in front of a blue screen and later they paste the website background in the video. Am I right? |

ThX for the example page.
If I understand it correctly they have manage this with a green screen and .flv is not longer the only format in which this can be done. Interesting, Thanks |

Yes. It looks like .webm format supports transparent background video. I can confirm that chrome browsers support playback and respect the transparent background. And that fire fox does not support the transparent background.
Kdenlive does not author such videos. And it does not respect the transparency in them either. |
