Early apologies if this is obvious.
Installed Kdenlive 0.9.6 on Ubuntu 14.04
Installed frei0r plugins 1.4.0 ...
Not all effects are available.
The relevant xml files seem to be in place in usr/share/kde4/apps/kdenlive/effects (112 xml files). I'm assuming each should be matched with a .so file in usr/lib/frie0r-1
Where the relevant .xml is matched with a corresponding .so file the effect is present and works (the ones I've tried so far). However the .xml files that don't have a .so file (and there are about 25 .so files short) give rise to non-existent effects.
Is this the case? Is there a simple solution?

Synaptic showed an upgrade was available for frei0r, click, checked the .so files, they're there and so are the effects (the ones I've checked). Phew!
