Double alpha-mask transition

Sun Feb 22, 2015 2:54 pm
Hi everybody.

My task is to make video track using 3 sources: src1, src2 and mask. Each of them is video track (NOT static picture). Mask is filled with only black or white pixels.

Is it possible to make simple effect: if pixel in mask source is black then use src1 pixel, otherwise use src2 pixel (NOT mask pixel).

If it's possible, can I do same thing with grayscale mask (0-255 black)?

Thanks a lot, guys.

Check this page out. It might help https://userbase.kde.org/Kdenlive/Manua ... ideo_Masks

Hi,

I'm facing the exact same problem as in the description: I want to use a video of masks with grey pixel value (everything between black and white) to control opacity of a target video.

The link above gives the ability to create a static image and use it as mask, but I'm having a set of mask exactly synchronized to targetvideo, so i'm looking for some composite effect. Tried experimenting with alpha, blend and so on but they all work on alphachannel not on the black and white info in the mask movie.
Because the topic is really old, maybe there is a new better solution to this?

Hi! I couldn't really try because i don't have clips like the ones you have, but i think if you follow the steps here, it should get the right results: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rqNdJxvgwsU
You might have to add the invert effect to the other "mask" clip.

Not sure whether this is what you mean. I've created a tutorial recently:
