I am a total Kdenlive noob so please expect stupidity: I use a mixture of video clips and slideshow clips together with dissolve transitions between them. As far as I can see, the background of slideshow clips is transparent, i.e. the area of the movie that is not covered by a picture because the picture does not have the same aspect ratio as the movie is black but shows underlying video tracks.

I have a slideshow track (track1) and add another video track (track2) with a dissolve transition, so both tracks partly overlap. The second track is seen immediately at the transparent areas of track1 as described above while the dissolve effect is only seen in the areas of track1 where there's actually a picture. I want to the dissolve cover the total visable area. Thus, I think, a black background for the slideshow clip would solve that. Can I define it?
