Hi Community,
I accidentially shot a video with ISO800 settings instead of my usual ISO400.
It is a portrait kind of scene, it looks ok but the skin tone is just too bright.

In a thread on the old forum someone reccomended to use the "Levels" effect.
So I tried but the outcome was not so satisfying. (I was just playing with the sliders, no idea what I am doing)
Although the background darkend nicely, the skin tone was still pale white.
I also tried the "Curves" effect (luma), result was quite interesting but more artistic than realistic I'd say.

Can someone help me to do this right?
The footage is not too badly overexposed so I thing it should be fixable.

Is it actually fixable? I mean, it's not just so overblown that you've lost everything skin and up to pure white?

If not, I usually use the Colour correction -> 3 point balance tool.

Try just changing the grey point to a brighter shade to see if you can darken the whole image whilst keeping the absolute white and black the same.

If that works, but isn't quite right, then move on to more sophisticated tools that allow more than 3 points and curves and whatnot, but the 3-point one is useful because it shows what needs correcting in a more intuitive way.

Sometimes it's easier to just re-shoot if possible.

I also like to use 3-point balance with cards, like, before a shoot, hold up a card with white, mid-grey, and black on it, and then sample that card using the dropper part of the 3-point dialog. I do this with game footage too to colour correct the capture device.
