Blur parts of video using keyframes

Mon Jun 08, 2015 12:49 am
Hi,

New to kdenlive, need some help, haven't been able to figure this one out. Trying to blur some parts of a video.

I tried the automask effect, a few bugs and doesn't follow the face correctly. How can I create a mask and use keyframes to do it manually? Possible?

Thanks.

When automask fails I think this task becomes a bit tricky.
An option is to use alpha shapes to create an alpha transparency that you keyframe around the action.
You would put two copies of the footage on the time line.
Apply blur effect to the one on video track 2 and put a affine transition between the two with the alpha shape rectangle making the blured footage show through to the final render.

If the automask had given you a tracking that only stuffs up a bit you could follow the instructions here https://userbase.kde.org/Kdenlive/Manua ... n_Tracking to get the keyframe data from it into the footage and then edit it.

But yep. This is tricky.
