Hello again,
I'm having trouble applying movit effects to my clips. All I get in the console is "Problem adding effect to clip." I can successfully apply movit effects through melt for example with
The consumer qglsl does not work, I am stuck at 0 frames when using it. I am running kdenlive and melt compiled using the build script a few days ago (from git). Version numbers melt: 0.9.9 Qt: 4.8.6 KDE Development Platform: 4.14.6 Kdenlive: 0.9.10 I'm on a laptop with Intel i915 graphics, but I don't think it's a driver or hardware problem since I can view the filters using melt. Any tips on how to get these filters to work, or how to debug further? |

Hello,
Versions 0.9.10 doesn't support Movit filters. This features is an addition to 15.08, for which you need a KDE Frameworks 5 environment (recent distro). Cheers, Vincent |

Oh, thanks. I just assumed that I would get the latest version by using the build script, guess I should have read the info page on versions more carefully!

So I've been updating stuff, and I'm now on Kdenlive 15.08.0, from the kubuntu-ci repository, built 20 hours ago, but still no movit effects. And this page: https://todo.kde.org/?controller=task&a ... 061815a1ce seems to suggest that movit is not really supported in the latest git version, is that correct? I seem to be missing the xml movit filter definitions, but those might not be enough to get it working?

I'm getting a similar problem in kdenlive 15.09 (development), in all versions. Currently using the newest mlt and movit versions. In kdenlive, I get this error on attemping to add a Movit effect (edit 10-2-2015: from the clip in the timeline right-click "add effect" dialog:): Cannot find effect movit.blur / movit.blur . The glsl transitions (edit 10-2-2015: not always) work, though with the render streaming to the screen instead of to a file this is of little use.
I then tried to run this code, based on the earlier report here:
and got this result:

I just found that (at least with kden;ive 15.09 git 9-30-2015 version), Movit effects can in fact be added sucessfully to a clip, but NOT from the "add effect" right click dialog from a clip in the timeline. Instead the "effects list" window must be open, and GPU effects shown. Using the "add effect to selected clip" dialog from an effect shown in this window will work and the effect can then be configured from the effect stack in the usual manner. I suspect this is caused by the fact that Movit effects can only be added to a whole clip and not attached to a part of a clip or a transition in MLT.
Assuming the clip in timeline dialog cannot be fixed to deal with the different MLT requirements for Movit, it would be enough to have the status bar text that pops up when you try to change from "cannot find effect movit.(whatever)" to "this effect must be added from the effects list window." Otherwise users will endlessly try new versions of Kdenlive hoping to find one where Movit works without ever realizing it was working all along. Got color errors on the pan and zoom effect, probably a bug in Movit itself. I get an error in FFT accuracy when running Movit tests on installation, using last night's GIT code. Blur and lift_gamma_gain work great. Still can't render except to a playback window and a zero byte file when using Movit however. Fix this and Movit is mostly ready (for me anyway) to use in my news videos. |
