Zoom in and out (perhaps pan)

Sun Oct 04, 2015 9:46 am
I have a number of video of video files that I need to put together to movies of approx one hour length. They are split into files of 47+ minutes (.MOV) and 17+ minutes (:MTS). I need to do three thing to them:

1) attach files (.MOV to .MOV and .MTS to .MTS)

2) cut unnecessary frames in the beginning and in the end

3) zoom in and out several times during the approx. one hour film (and perhaps a bit of panning as well)

1) and 2) are fairly easy but I find 3) a bit cumbersome. Are there any good tricks? For instance I would like find a trick to copy settings of markers. I.e. for a zoom in and out effect (from and to the original size) marker one indicates the beginning of zoom in, marker two the final zooming, marker three the beginning of zooming out and marker four the end of the zoom in and out sequence. Markers one and four will then have the same original settings and two and three will have the same zoom settings.

To my knowledge there is no such maker, but you can easily copy and paste effects. Since you happen to have long raw footage clips I would suggest this workflow: in the region where you want to apply your effect, simply cut your clip in the timeline. One cut at the beginning and one at the end. You can use Shift+R for cutting clips in the timeline. Throw your effect at the cutted clip region. Do the same for other places. Copy and paste the effect(s) from the old region to the new region. However, this requires some work when the regions are of different lengths as you then need to reconfigure your effects. May this help you?
