rotoscoping help in 0.9.8

Thu Oct 29, 2015 11:16 pm
All,

I'm trying to use the rotoscoping effect but having some issues. So, I stack my two elements on video 1 and 2. I added a composite transition between the two. I have my top media selected, add rotoscoping effect, and I am able to make a selection. When I close my selection, I either don't get a greyed out section (just the yellow box on the screen) without any action or the viewable selection is shifted to the left of the area I selected. What am I doing wrong?

Background, I'm running kdenlive on Linux Mint 17.1 running Mate and one running XFCE. I installed it with apt-get and also had to grab a few other kde packages to get it to place nice. I wonder if I need more apps or is this a bug?

Hi

In the rotoscoping effect set mode to RGB, Alpha Operation to write on clear and unselect invert. In the composite unselect align. Does that help?

Cheers

In case you are using 15.08.0: the rotoscoping effect is broken according to https://kdenlive.org/discover/15.08.0

EDIT: I need to learn to read titles. Obviously 15.08.0 is not being used here. Sorry, no idea how to help and whether it was broken back then.
