Hi again,
Here's another in my series of "I'm new to KDenLive so please bare with me" queries.....so please bare with me. As stated previously, I'm using KDenLive 15.12.0 on Kubuntu 15.10 (AMD 64) I've just been looking at the available tools for secondary colour correction, and in particular skin tone grading. Best bet, for the way I'm used to working, is probably using the "Key Spill Mop-up" effect (in "Color Distance" mode) to generate a skin tone mask. From my tests so far, it's possible to achieve a quite reasonable degree of selectivity with the included hue and saturation range control parameters. From past experience, combination with a luma range mask would likely add a further element of refinement. With that in mind I looked at the "Luma key" effect (listed under Misc) to see what it had to offer - only to find that it doesn't appear to be working at all. The control sliders are there but they don't do anything. Is this a bug that I should report or simply that the effect hasn't been fully implemented yet ? |

Hmmm. This effect looks new. It is not in the list of effects on the 0.9.10 based documentation - https://userbase.kde.org/Kdenlive/Manua ... ransitions
I think as new filters get added to the frei0r project or the melt project they can accidentally arrive in kdnelive but not actually be implemented. That might be what you are seeing with this effect. |

Thanks. I didn't realize that could happen. Yet another search this morning pulled up this: http://ehc.ac/p/mlt/mailman/message/34538143/ Whether accidental or not, it would be good effect/filter to have, with many uses. |

It does work through a clips alpha channel, and so needs a composite transition to see the effect.
