I'm new to video editing and KDEnlive so perhaps there was a better way to do this but it worked.
I had video of a bike ride that my brother-in-law and I went on. We thought that to ride to Wolf Mountain would be a long but do-able ride. However, about 10km into the ride when we thought we were closer to halfway or more into the ride, we noticed a sign that said "21.1km to Wolf Mtn" so we were still a long way from the end. In the editing process, I used the Freeze effect at the frame when the sign becomes visible and then I used the Composite and Transform effect to enlarge the size of the video and shift the centre so that the sign was in the centre of the video (like a zoom effect which I had hoped to find as an option but I didn't so I used this method instead), pause for a bit, then reverse the zoom, then continue the video from that point. After a fair bit of experimentation, I got it to work nicely. I wanted to also add title text to explain that section of the video just as I have done so above but the title text didn't appear so I figured that it needed to be zoomed out and back also but that didn't work either. Is there another way I could have done this zoom effect? Is there a way I could have been able to add the title clip so that it was visible? |
