Hi,

Happens to me too. :)

My work-around:

1) Uncheck the "import into project" box (on the bottom of the stabilize dialog)
2) Manually drag the completed video in when the job completes

In my experience: It will still crash occasionally, but happens MUCH less frequently than when you try to get it to import automatically.

I also have this problem

I'm running kdenlive-19.04.0-2_portable on windows7.

I couldn't find a workaround, for several reasons:
1. Even if I uncheck "load into project" it still crashes every time.
2. While the program does indeed save the result to a file before crashing, this file is not always complete. Sometimes it is complete and I can work around the problem by just restarting kdenlive and loading the result, but sometimes the resulting file only contains part of the video, so that i can only get part of the video stabilised. This behaviour is not random, but happens the sem way every time, so the missing part is always the same, so i can't work around this issue by just running it several times till I have it all. I didn't test it much, but with the video I tested it widh it seems to me as if the program might do something around approximately 1 minute into the video that always crashes it, so I can only get the first minute stabilised.

A possibly related thing: when i try to extract the audio from a video file, this crashes kdenlive as well, and also in this case it manages to save the result to file before crashing. I didn't test whether this result is always complete.

I found that doing the clip stabilization in the project area will cause a crash unless you use the actual effect from the effects vid.stab deshake which for me doesn't work or doesn't work well.

If you want to stabilize the clip through the ribbon (top of the window) or right clicking, click the clip in the project bin area on the left of the screen (Default) then right click or use the ribbon to stabilize. This won't let the program crash.

I hope this helps
