Problem (?) with composite transition

Fri Feb 09, 2018 10:38 am
Hi all. I'm new and I'm writing after having checked around about my issue.
I used Kdenlive for some videos and I'm not expert at all, I did very basic things.
Now my problem. I have a video composed by 4 different videos that must play together but in different dimensions.
I try to explain it as best as I can.
In the first image you can see I have the 4 videos in the timeline and there a composite transition between any of them.
The one on the top is playing in full screen.
Image

After few seconds the second video appears in full screen while the first is scaled down and moved to the top left corner. The play together.

Here is the first issue. As the third video appears, the second should scale down and move to the top right corner and it does while the third is playing in full screen, but the first one instead staying on the top left corner in the full screen, has moved together the second and it's stuck on its top left corner scaled down together the second video.
Image

As the fourth video appears, the process is the same. The third video should have moved on the bottom right corner and got scaled down, but all the first three videos moved to the bottom right corner scaling down in the meanwhile.
Image

I tried all ways but without any success. I was thinking about cutting each video in the position it must be scaled down and moved to the corner, but even if it succeeds it would be a silly solution.
Thank you for any help I can get.

Did you set the "With Track" option in Composite for Video 1-3 to Video 4? If not you will see two vids at a time when using more than two video tracks in composition.

Thanks alot for your answer. In the end I splitted the first 3 videos at the points where they should have scaled down and moved on the corners. I applied the transition and the pan and zoom, placed in the right places and it worked.
But I have to try the way you wrote.

Mark the correct reply as solved so that we know it is solved. Will be helpful for other users to quickly know there is a solution
