Hello,
I'm wondering how to get more video effects for Kdenlive.
There's already a lot of great effects for sure.
Just curious if there's a way to get even more of them into Kdenlive.
Are there anything like plugins, addons, extensions, scripts, etc.
to be able to do even more far out effects like spirals, and other distortions, etc?
Thanks for any ideas.

The "Luma wipes" (like spiral) are just gray level images (pgm format), you can draw you owns (eg using a logo), and few have been uploaded to the KDE store.
For "real" effects, MLT itself has several modules and one can code more ; among available modules you have frei0r which is an interface for tens of video "plugins", also avfilter (FFmpeg library) has tens of plugins (often redundant); Movit is also an effects library, but implemented on GPU (still quite unstable integration in Kdenlive).
For audio, MLT supports LADSPA plugins format (though not built on Windows yet).

For effects processing out of Kdenlive, you may be interested in Natron...

I'm not interested in wipes at this time.
Good to know though.
Thank you for the ideas.

Plenty of good resources to explore.
I appreciate very much the details you present here.
Thank you.
