Is there a scripting layer for KDEnlive?

I wonder if its possible to have a script that process SRT files. As the files are basically a database for timeline and Strings, it could be possible to generate Title clips at each timestamp, and get the string from the file. This is an example of how an SRT file looks:


So having a script that iterates through the file, and generate Title texts (or dynamic text effect?).
