Hi,
I'm pretty new to kdenlive, I'm wanting to edit an image clip (a .png ) in krita, but although I changed the default app for editing images in settings>configure kdenlive nothing happens when I right click on the image in the project bin and select "edit clip". Incidentally it doesn't work using the default gimp either - not sure why tho, I get a dialogue box up from gimp but the text is replaced with boxes . I'm hoping I'll be able to use krita to draw images and text (ncluding animations) as overlay over my video, and that would definitely be easier if I can see the background video as I am drawing, which is what I expected to happen (I saw on a youtube tutorial that this is possible using inkscape) If this isn't possible then I guess I can simply draw in krita then export the png (and resize as necessary) but If it is possible it would be a lot easier (and pretty cool...) I'm using the Appimage Version 18.12.0 on Linux Mint 19. EDIT: tried the repository version (Version 17.12.3) that I also have installed and it worked fine, opened up in krita no problem, tho I can't see any way to be able to see the background (the video I'm drawing over) - thinking about it that youtube tutorial might have been for creating titles not images, I can't see how Krita would be likely to be able to access kdenlive....a workaround if I need it might be to take a screenshot to put under my drawing as a reference. However, anyone any idea if there's a way to get this working on the appimage? thanks for any help anyone can offer! |

OpenRaster support (Krita/Gimp) is in a Long term. See here: https://community.kde.org/Kdenlive/Deve ... ng_Roadmap . So you have to do with your workaround.
If I understand you correct, you want to be able to see the video as a background in Krita. If yes, this is more a Krita feature request than on Kdenlive. |
