Is there a possibility for a motion blur effect to be added to Kdenlive anytime soon? I know there is a tutorial about how to achieve this but I'm waiting for a motion blur effect. I see this effect has been requested before and wanted to know if there is any update.

I'm wondering if there is any update on this suggestion. I would like to be able to create motion blur on any clip with an automated process and maybe keyframe the amount of blur.

This video is a good example of what could be done with Kdenlive: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ANG3iMQVHVo
A simple effect with few parameters. Is there a possibility of having motion blur in the near future of Kdenlive? Edit: The original video was deleted and re-uploaded. |

Hi folks! I made a suggestion on how to implement a solution here:
viewtopic.php?f=270&t=176714&p=459454&hilit=motion+blur#p459454 can anyone give me some hints?

Their once was an effect that did this automated. You selected a part of a vid (say a face) and then it followed that part (aka face) by itself blurring.
Isn't that available anymore then? |

Oh that effect is of course still available. The effect naming is probably a bit confusing. Actually I'd call the effect you mentioned "motion face blur". "Motion blur" actually is a blurry smear effect of moving objects (like titles), so movement appears more natural for example.

With the effect i mean you could choose all to follow and blur. Not only faces.
You could f.i. select a car licence plate which he then followed and blurred. Or a name on a boat or something. |

If you want the box to follow the item I guess you'll need the Motion Tracker (under Alpha, Mask & Keying) OR maybe a combination of Alpha shapes (mask), Blur / Obscure effect and Mask apply ? Alpha shapes is keyframeable so you can make it "follow" manually. |

Long time i did it. On an older version, so don't know it that particular option is still alive.
This is what i meanth ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0AXNfIUKBj8 Some other options are also possible. Blurring, pixelizing, etc. Indeed with motion tracking. But that version i had in mind tracked and pixelized itself (??) Could be my mind is fooling me (?? other software? older version?) Must look in that older version if it's still there. But i'm not that much behind that computer lately. |
