I'm trying to do a split screen effect where there won't be a hard vertical line visible from a standard crop. I'd like to get a soft blend. I tried using Rectangular Alpha Mask but it slows down the playback.

I recall another method and executed it successfully about two years ago. But, for the life of me, I cannot find my original file or how it was done.
