Working with
Ubuntu 18.09
Kdenlive 18.12.1 appimage
Problem
I am working with text clips with 5 layers or tracks as you would state. The first 4 tracks work fine with effects of fades, position and zoom. I added a input fade effect to track 5, saved and then Kdenlive when a little squirrelly. The time position bar would not move, but I could click in the tracks and run it from where I clicked at. When the player hit the location of track 5's fade, rather than fade in, the text clip was instant on.

Things I did to find a solution:
Saved, shutdown and restarted Kdenlive
No change
Deleted the effect and readded to text clip
No change
Deleted the effect and the text clip
No change
Shutdown and restarted Kdenlive
The time tracking bar started to work again so I thought maybe the effects would start working
No change
I am trying to move from Blender video editor to Kdenlive, but after only a couple of hours of use and its failing to respond does not give me an warm fuzzies to want to continue with kdenlive

So....., if anyone can help me figure out what I did wrong so I can continue using Kdenlive that would be greatly appreciated

OK, I installed the Kdenlive snap version thinking that the appimage was broken, but the snap version acts the same exact way.

No need to answer this as I am going back to blender video editor as it works with more than 4 tracks, so disappointing as I was really liking the way it worked, oh well
