Hi all,

I've been using an older version of Kdenlive for a while now and recently upgraded my system to Ubuntu (vanilla) 18.04 and installed the Kdenlive PPA.

After this change, I noticed that apparently, I can't use the color picker from effects anymore to select a pixel from the preview video.

For example I used to add 3 Point Balance and White Balance effects sometimes and select the colored areas directly from the preview video (which it's supposed to, I assume), now it just always selects a grey color that looks like the background program window.

Can someone reproduce this problem? Or this this a known issue / specifically with Ubuntu? Using Kdenlive 18.12.3 now and no MLT effects.

Thanks a lot!

Since last week we have as stable PPA version of 19.04 (but for disco only).

Please try with the current Kdenlive AppImage version 19.04.1b to see if there are any packaging issues https://files.kde.org/kdenlive/release/
If the problem/issue doesn't occur when using the AppImage, then it's your configuration or packaging.

I've had the same problem too. The color picker doesn't work on the latest appimage (19.04.3) nor any of my other installed versions. Using the color picker usually ends up with black or some other random color. Any idea what could be causing this/ how to fix it? I'm running on opensuse if that makes any difference.

Thanks!

A hint: if you draw up a rectangular with the color picker it gets more accurate.

Are you using Ubuntu Vanilla/Gnome as well?
