I’m using the debian buster version of kdenlive (18.12.3-1), and I have a problem with the Transform and Gamma effects. When I add them to a clip, the effects are applied. In the monitor, the clips are displayed with my parameters applied. Sor far so good. But in the rendered video, some of this clips (where I applied Transform and Gamma) are either missing or almost black. If I close/restart kdenlive, and click on one of the problematic clips, the same issue now appear in the monitor. That is because all my parameters have been overwritten by the minimum values:
- for Transform, size is reset to 1% and opacity to 0. In this case the clip is invisible. - for Gamma it is reset to 1. In this case the clip is almost all black. If I change the values to put back the ones I want, sometime it solve the problem. In other cases, the clips are still missing in the rendered video and if I close/restart kdenlive, the minimum values are back again. I don’t know why kdenlive works with some clips and reset the values for others. It seems random, even if I noticed that some clips are more prone to get reseted than others. I tried to lock the track after each time I apply Transform and Gamma, it seems to reduce the problem but some random clips keep getting modified with the minimum values, even with their track locked. A google search didn’t help. Is this a known bug? I didn’t find a way to lock a specific clip, and locking the track doesn’t solve the problem (and it’s a PITA anyway). Would anyone have an idea of a workaround? |

Please try with the current Kdenlive AppImage version 19.08.2b to see if there are any packaging issues https://files.kde.org/kdenlive/release/
If the problem/issue doesn't occur when using the AppImage, then it's your configuration or packaging. |

So I tested the appimage of 19.12, and the bug is still there. Therefore it’s not my configuration or the debian packaging.

Hi stratos!
can i ask what kind of decimal separator are you using on this OS ? ( comma or point ? ) |

My locale is fr_FR.UTF-8, so it’s a comma. I don’t mind switching it to en_US.UTF-8, I’ve been thinking of doing so for a while (to avoid having to translate back and forth, when I read a tutorial or google an error message). But I think kdenlive shouldn’t behave differently because French people have set their locale to their language ^^

i know that on Linux the comma/point affair is less painfull than on Windows... but this is just a way to try to find the cause of your issues...
if you have time, try changing locale to point... delete all configuration files/folders of Kdenlive, and try to rebuild a new project , just to see if this is related to: https://invent.kde.org/kde/kdenlive/issues/78 |
