EDIT: I have solved this problem and the answer was in the manual once I figured out what was happening: some effects ended up on the clip and some on the track. I'm not sure if I can directly delete these posts so please just ignore them. :<

Hello,
New kdenlive user here (actually, I've used it before, but many years ago).

I placed a clip on the timeline, I added a "position and zoom" effect and set it up the way I wanted it. I then added a sharpen effect after that.

I then rendered the project, which worked fine, and saved it and quit.

The next time I opened the project, I can see the "sharpen" effect in the Properties list (and listed on the clip itself), but NOT the "position and zoom" effect. However, the effect is still there. It shows up in the preview and in renders. It just doesn't show up in the "Properties" list. I can't figure out what went wrong and I am about to re-place the clip and start over with it because I really need to tweak some of the settings, but I thought I would check here first.

Any pointers appreciated.
Thanks!

I think I might have partially figured this out but still have a question.

I randomly clicked on the small icon at the left of the track that looks like a tilted half-black and half-white bar with a "+" next to it. When I did this, the Sharpen effect disappeared and the position-and-zoom plugin reappeared in the Properties list.

So, it appears that maybe some effects are attached only to the clip but some are attached to the entire track? Is this correct? If so, how do I know or direct which effects will be attached to the clip and which will end up attached to the track? NOTE: This is kdenlive 19.12.3 on SuSE Tumbleweed.
Thanks
