Hello Forum,

I censored my students' contact information from a screencast video (mp4).

I started the project in Windows and completed and rendered it in Linux (Kdenlive AppImage: 19.12.3 on Manjaro Xfce).
As far as I can tell, it seems that the censoring I did using Automask on Windows are shifted to the right in the render, exposing the details, yet in kdenlive, the Automask box in the preview panel is in the right place.

I am expecting to have to delete and apply new masks for the parts that are rendering wrongly.

i made a lot of automask tesst on windows and seems that old bugs (related to video geometry / size ) are now fixed... the only visible bug that there are right now is when the automask section is placed outside of the clip (this make the rendering fail)

btw.. better to not move projects from platform to platform... Kdnelive is not very stable in a single platform , better to not "force" more instability.

P.S. seems that there are issues with multiple automask at the same time. in this case you have to use an automask and a obscure to make 2 "hidden" areas.

Thank you for your reply.

I deleted the (Windows) masks and applied new ones in Linux. Still, some automasks move around, even when I didn't scroll the document in the video. I do not understand this behaviour. Can't they stay still? When I do reach a point when the document scrolls, I am splitting the footage at the playhead, and then adjusting the automask's size and position in the new block of frames. What I have noticed now, is that in the preview window, the automask effect is sometimes in the wrong place, quite a distance from the red transform box.

I'll stick to one OS, then. Thank you for that advice.
I'm not sure what an 'obscure' is. I'm wondering if I'd be better off using a colour clip and transforming it.
I've just changed all of the maximum x and y distances to 1 pixel. I'm not sure what it does, but it's something I haven't tried.

EDIT: The automask rendered in the correct location this time. I assume it was due to the maximum x and y settings.

yep.. also the block size (that is not working) is affecting the automask tracking... and seems also that the maximum x and maximum y are doing issues.
