Size and the crop effect

Sat Apr 18, 2020 12:08 pm
Hi,

When I am using the crop effect to cut off parts of a source clip and then want to use the transform effect to change the position of the clip, I have to calculate the new width of the clip first and change the value in the transform effect options before I can actually use the effect properly. See the screenshots at: https://imgur.com/a/F1No8UX

Am I missing an option where the the size of the clip after crop are automatically taken into account when applying the next effect? Or is this a missing feature?

Thanks, martin

do you want that the edge output image is STRETCHED to fill the entire screen? (or ZOOMED?)
beacuse the streching can be made flagging the "DISTORT" flag on trasform or zoom effects.

or maybe i can't understand the question... because the cropped image can be moved everywhere just using mouse on preview window.... (use CROP SCALE AND TILT ... and POSITION AND ZOOM or TRANSFORM)

Yes, I understand that I can move the image just fine. However, as pixel perfect positioning is difficult, I would prefer to be able to just input X and Y values (or use the "Align .." buttons), so that for example X=0 means the image is aligned on the left.
I could calculate the X value as well without changing W (eg. X = - (Left + Right) / 2 to align it on the left), but this seems unnecessarily complex to me.
