Hello,
I've checked some of the recent postings but did not find any thread that would provide a solution for my need to animate letters horizontally in a title clip. The Letter Spacing setting cannot be set by keyframes (based on my limited understanding). I would like the letters to spread out horizontally without any "elasticity" in the chosen font for the duration of the basic animation. I used the basic Animation tab in Title Clip with Start and End settings. Unfortunately for my purpose, this effect simply stretches the entire text string (distorting the font) when my goal is to simply have more spaces inserted uniformly (as is common in cinematic titles) and to retain the aesthetics of the chosen font. While my goal is to have simply a pair of start/end points, naturally the ability to keyframe the spacing would be icing on the cake. I use variations of Transform to stretch a one-dimensional line but this technique is inapplicable to constrain the stretching in a single dimension. I've read about suggestions to animate individual letters/characters using current Transform techniques but I feel that this approach requires a bit more elbow grease and the results are not granular repeatable. I'd prefer to perform the operation on the entire text string with a single set of recommended technique(s). Is it possible to achieve my limited goal to have a gradual change in inter-character spacing of text with the intrinsic animation feature of title clip? Apologies for asking a redundant question if a solution is posted in the forum/wiki. Thanks for helping out a total newbie who has challenges with using Search (presumably). Kind regards.
