Image Sequence at 23.97 fps

Mon Feb 01, 2021 10:02 pm
I am trying to import an "Image sequence" generated at 29.97 fps from some animation software.
I then set the project for 29.97 fps. Import sequence. Indicate "Frame Duration =" 1 Frame.

For 57 frames, KDEnlive report the clip will last 1.27s. However, It should be 1.9 sec.

I seem to have an acceptable result at 25 fps or 50 fps (anything express in .01 of a sec) but nothing base on 60 hz.

KDEnlive 20.12.1
MLT : 6.24.0
ffmpeg
Kubuntu : 20.04.2 LTS

Just tried importing 44 frames on a 29.97 project.. and the result is 01;14 ... that mean: 1 second and 14 frames. seems ok to me.

Sorry, are you running out of some Linux or Windows?

Thanks for testing it.

Actually, the answer should be 1 sec. and 14/29.97 = .46666 sec. :'( :'( :-\
So, your test seems to show the same type of error.

I have redone the exact same test on my equipment/OS. I also get 1.14sec for 44 frames.
I try with a project at 60 Fps. Importing 44 frames indicates the sequence will last .44 sec. However, it should be : 44/60 = .73333 sec

Sorry but i can't understand your tests... just tried to reimporting the 44 frames (at 29.97 frames x second) , and i set every "import" to 1 second... the result clip is long exactly 43,29 seconds.
where are you reading the tenths of a second? the 4th value on timeline are frames.. not tenths of a second

00:00:00;00 = hours/minutes/seconds/frames

Thank you very much. You solve it. :) :) :<
My other software just finish generating 27000 Frame now and the timing is perfect when you read the time code correctly.
You even make me investigate the others software and I discovered it has the options to report the time code the same way (instead of just frame number)
