I prefer the effects "Fade In" and "Fade Out" to use the checkbox "Fade from Black" and "Fade to Black". Is there a way to make this default to checked?

The logic is when I have keyboard shortcuts for those effects, I don't want to have to also go click a checkbox. Saved effects don't seem to save the checkbox state (and I can't seem to assign keyboard shortcuts for saved effects either).

Using AppImage 21.08.2.

If I'm doing it wrong, please advise! Thanks!

well, you can manually check it by editing file fade_from_black.xml under C:\Program Files\kdenlive\bin\data\kdenlive\effects (Windows platform) as
...
<parameter type="multiswitch" name="level&#10;alpha" default="0=0;-1=1&#10;1" min="1&#10;0=0;-1=1" max="0=0;-1=1&#10;1">
<name>Fade from Black</name>
...

Re-launch Kdenlive if it is running.
