Changing speed on a track is final? Help

Hi, I'm working on several sets of short clips that I sped up (to about 200% or more). I sped up quite a few of these clips (using change speed), and realized after rendering a sample portion that they may be a bit too fast. But I can't seem to slow the speed now (I get an error message that says 200% is now the minimum speed for the clip).
Does anyone have any clues as to how I might be able to adjust the speed on these tracks now?

Thank you

changing speed of a clip can be done directly on timeline using CTRL+GRAB_EDGE_OF_CLIP... this do not create a new clip with a different speed but just apply something like an effect on it... (and you can change speed every time you want to adapt to project) .. i use this feature every day to reduce duration of the final video...

you have to leave original clip on timeline (do not create a clip with an initial changed speed using JOBS)

You may have other clips around that make it so that it can't expand, make sure to have room after your clip

For your information.
If i use the speed with the 'speed' plugin, i can change from 100% to 50% to 200% and back to 100% and nothing is final. All play as they should. And max is 2000%, also working.
So i really don't understand why it should not work there.

Oh, wow, Arkengheist is right. I really thought the clip would just expand out and add time to the whole track. I suppose it makes sense not to have that functionality and to manually add time to all tracks.
