Hi,
I am looking for a way to fade in/out a clip to/from white (without using a white color-clip in background). Using black is no problem, its already present in fadein/fadeout, but no other color... Searching the forum has had no success...

I played with the Levels effect as it is keyframeable. Set the first keyframe where you want the fade to start and another at the last frame. Then set Gamma to 4000 and Input white level to 10. Voila.
I am sure there are other color effects with which to achieve this. Unfortunately, kdenlive does not fade to white out of the box. Perhaps you want to log this as a feature request?

Wow, thanks for the hint! Can be saved as private effect, I think.
Still having problems to find any effects etc. with their names & outdated docs... Thanks again!

You can also create a white color clip on V0 and place all the other clips to v1 v2 v3 v4 and just fade to V0.

Yes, I know, its my 'last resort'. But it is not what I'm looking for. If I need to re-arrange something on the timeline, I'm forced to have these clips in this fixed order. One source more for some errors...
