Hello
I'm new to Kdenlive and trying to make some titles !
I've run into some troubles while trying to add composite on different titles that happen simultanously.
I've created two titles and added them in my videos. I put them on two seperate video tracks to make them appear at the same time.
My problem is that when I had composite (to make them slide into frame) on each title clip, only one track get the composite.
It seems like only one composite can work at the same time.
Is this the normal and expected behaviour (disappointing) or is this a bug ?

any clue ?

If they have to appear at the same time... why separate tracks?

The composite works directly at the track below unless you specify the track where the composite should work.
You just need to change the Composition Track to the track you want to comp. ;)

But if you are just trying to have some movement, you should use the transform effect.

I'd like them to appear from seperate directions.
My understanding is that composite affects the track it's on (automatic) or you can specify the track you want it to affect.
I've finally made it work but you can't leave it on automatic, I had to change it to background.
Here's the result: https://macserver.fr.to/s/cBC5m5enD3joHc4

I just need now to figure out how to insert that in a project in an efficient way.
I haven't figured that one out but at least we're still going forward...

Same result without any comp:

Compositions are used to a very specific situation, for this kind of animation it will just pollute your timeline.

The title have a transparent background, you won't need any comp
I create two titles, and animated with only one Transform Effect for each,
Text from the left goes on the x axis from frame 0(-700) to frame 20(0)
Text from the right goes on the x axis from frame 0(700) to frame 20(0)

OK, so obviously I didn't understand what composites were and what I needed was effects.
Now yes I can do that easily, thanks.

Next step, I'll try to make template out of it and insert it in a project to use at the beginning of each segments and changing only the text...

Thanks for your patience.

Compositions are used to create interaction(pixel level) between two or more clips.
If you have a blood splatter, you cannot only remove the alpha and put over the scene because this blood does not belong to that scene(different light condition, perspective, movement, etc) so you have to integrate it and you gonna need to composite this clips together.

Cairo Gradient Composition ( Multiply mode )

The same for dust, fire, fog, rain, a zombie face with scratches, a logo at the wall, the list is endless for comp.

That's a good idea, it saves a lot of time.
Have fun ^-^
