Hello everyone,
I have a question when it comes to stabilizing a video. I'm working on a project where I need to stabilize a clip, normally to improve the performance of my PC I usually work with proxies. If I stabilize the proxy in the project tray by right clicking > clip jobs > stabilize. When exporting the final product, would this clip be stabilized? On the other hand, would it be possible to stabilize the video on the timeline in a cut of that clip? Thanks everyone for your help. |

AFAIK, the stabilizing is done on the original video. Not sure how it is then applied to the proxy clip when previewing but it shouldn't matter.
Have you tested it and it doesn't work?

At the moment, I am working on a project because I have stabilized about proxies, since I have Kdenlive configured to prepare proxies automatically. In view of the time it took to stabilize the clips, I think it was on the original. When I render the video I will check it and update this post with the information I get.

In the menu under clip you'll find stabalizing (vidstab, on clip).
Before there were also some (good) stabalizing effects in the effects list, but i can't tell which as in the version here now on my computers lacks those. What do you have to stabalize? Short vibrations? Or long vibrations (recording movement)? As long (recording) movements can be slightly stabalized manually by the zoom&pan effect. |

I know this option, the question I have is whether it should be done before or after preparing the proxy. I've done a test stabilizing a clip after proxying and it doesn't seem to have stabilized the original clip when I rendered the final job.
I don't know these filters either, if someone knew them and indicated one to us, it would be very helpful. In most cases I only need to stabilize a part of the clip, so this can help a lot of processing time and work.
I usually have three cases to stabilize: 1. Underwater scenes that at specific moments it becomes difficult to keep the camera stable or when I am on the surface that the movement of the water makes the camera move but without vibration. 2. When the camera is attached to the handlebars of the road bike. The irregularity of the asphalt makes the clip vibrate, this vibration is constant and of little amplitude. 3. When I record with the smartphone, sometimes it is difficult to get into a stable position and there are small vibrations. It would be that these vibrations were softer. |

I know them. If i remember well their in the (older) version on my other computer, on which i haven't working for a lot of weeks now. As soon as i turn that one on i will look how they are named. Until then i can only refer to ... https://userbase.kde.org/Kdenlive/Manua ... /Stabilize |

Deshake_opencl?
Feature-point based video stabilization filter (avfilter.deshake_opencl) VR360 Stabilize? The plugin works in two phases - analysis and stabilization. When analyzing footage, it detects frame-toframe rotation, and when stabilizing it tries to correct high-frequency motion (shake) (frei0r.bighsh0t_stabilize_360) |

I have done some tests with different clips and I can confirm that if you do the stabilization over the proxy when you re-render the final work you get the stabilized video.
VR360 Stabilize? The plugin works in two phases - analysis and stabilization. When analyzing footage, it detects frame-toframe rotation, and when stabilizing it tries to correct high-frequency motion (shake) (frei0r.bighsh0t_stabilize_360) I had a hard time finding this filter, since the folder where it was located was not inside the Kdenlive filters folder and I couldn't see it in the kdenlive filter list. I finally found it and put it inside. I have seen that it is very useful, especially when we have a very large clip and we only want to stabilize a part.
I can't find this filter anywhere. Does it come installed by default or do I have to download it from somewhere? I've checked the Kdenlive installation folder to see if it's out like the other one, but I can't find it anywhere. How could I install it? |

Those are some filters in my kdenlive. Why you don't have them or harder i can't tell.
Probably that you use another version of kdenlive then me. |
