When putting things like boxes and obscures on a video, I don't get any on video controls. Why? It forces me to use the numbers in the effects/composition menu, instead of just letting me position stuff with my mouse. This is version 22.08.0 on Linux MINT... and I see other people on YouTube with on video controls. Why don't I get on video controls?

This sounds similar to the topic I posted here about not being able to use my mouse to control the position of an image in the Position and Zoom effect. I was able to with every version I used before 22.12.1. Were you able to do what you wanted in previous versions?

Nope... they were all like this. Even the ones downloaded through the MINT app library thing.

It looks like with some installs the Edit Mode is off by default. Click the icon to the immediate right of the fast forward button underneath the project monitor. Then once you select a clip with an effect that has position or size controls a red edit handle frame is displayed.

In case you want to move the handles outside the visible area of the project monitor you use Ctrl+mouse wheel to zoom the project monitor.
