How do you get the Audio waveform to show in the timeline window? I just installed Ubuntu 7.10 and did an install of KDENLive from synaptic. |

Thanks. I have tried that and i do get 2 straight flat lines in the audio track but i do not get the waveform of the music. Is it only certain types of files that give the waveform or do i still need to set something else so i can see the waveform? |

I have had the same problem with Ubuntu, in versions 6.10, 7.04, and 7.10. I even installed KDE to try and get it to work, but no luck there either. I do a lot of music videos, and therefore need the waveform. I love the program, but it is useless to me without a waveform. Has anyone found a workaround for this? Is there info I can give on this to help out fixing this? |

After my last update it started working fine. :D |

It is a moot point by now, since I am going to just wait for .6, but what did you update that got it working? |

I have the same problem with the Gusty package. As says cryophallion, It's unusuable to work properly. |

Ok, so I now have upgraded to hardy (gnome), which I am told is .6 svn, and I still have the same problem. Since an icon wasn't placed, I ran through the cli, and got an error message on startup: kio (KMimeType): WARNING: KServiceType::offers : servicetype ThumbCreator not found Elsewhere I read that this doesn't matter for other things, but since we are talking about audio thumbnails, it may be pertinent. Anyone know if this is the problem, and if so, where to fix it? Thanks, |

So, I again installed kubuntu from ubuntu proper, but the problem still appears. HAs anyone else been able to get a waveform on ubuntu with gnome or both gnome and kde? BTW, I've tried it on 3 comps now, so I don't think it is a computer specific problem. |
