I'm pretty much a noob when it comes to video editing and I need a little help. I've got a video clip with sound I want to mute and I've got an audio clip that I want to match the video to. When I add the mute effect to the video it does not mute it. When I separate the audio from the video and add mute it still does not mute. Also, I can't figure out how to get video clip and the audio clip to play together. I saw somewhere else that you're supposed to add the audio clip to the video but I can't figure out how to do that. I'm running Ubuntu 7.10, if that makes a difference. I've tried darn near every video editor available in Linux and this is by far my favorite. I just need to figure out the sound thing. Thanks. |

if you can separat the audio and the video... just delete the audio track... else a screen shot could help |

Deleting the sound after it was separated sounded like a good idea. But it didn't work. I just noticed it's still listed as an .avi, maybe that's why? Here's a screenshot. |

Other than the fact that the sound line is still in that screen shot you seem to have done the right thing. but tecticaly thats the right thing for play back not rendering. try right clicking on the video on the time line, add an audio effect and set the audio off. If this doesn't work give me a screen shot of the volume effect. good luck |
