24-bit audio?

Thu Sep 01, 2011 6:20 pm
I shoot separate sound so that I can sync it up on the timeline with the video sound and then mute the camera sound track. I record the separate sound as 24-bit 48 kHz stereo wav files for a bit more headroom when improving sound. When I dropped such a file on the timeline and checked it's properties, Kdenlive confirms the sound is 24-bit, but when I exported sound from the timeline, the exported wav file was 16-bit. Can I create a render profile that includes 24-bit wav export? When I work in Kdenlive is 24-bit sound respected, or is it already reduced to 16-bit (so a 24-bit export option would be a bit pointless). Thanks.
