At first, thanks for this cool app !

I'm wondering if Kdenlive can export audio in 5.1 mode (AC3/Aa52), as Cinelerra does.

I haven't looked at source code right now, but I've a good programming skill in C/C++, I'll try to add support for it if it doesn't.

5.1 is not yet supported. It first needs serious review through all parts of MLT. Then, we probably need to add a surround panner.

Any news on this? cedricp, have you looked into adding support as you suggested in your post?

No news, and it is not something that I have been working on lately. Do not expect it any time soon.

I am also interested in this. Maybe not to create 5.1, no big plans for that as of yet. However, I have come across a file or more that has 5.1, and whoever made it decided to separate the music, foreground voices, and other background noises into separate channels. Channels 1 & 2 contain the music, channel 3 contains the voices and the last channels for anything else (mostly echo). This means that when I play this video on the timeline, I only get the music. Any chance of a Channel Mixer Audio Effect being created? Tried anything that sounded good in the Effect List, but still only getting music instead of the whole thing or just the voices.
