Hi there,
i'm getting a really tough kind of a problem after installing Kdenlive 0.7.4 on my Kubuntu 9.04. Everything works fine, my projects (former created on Kdenlive 0.5) play with excellent video quality and no single error messages. But i don't hear any sound ... I tried a lot, switching the audio-on and -off switches, checking the audio mixer on my Kde4, anything. Most other software like Amarok works fine, no problems playing mp3's a.s.o. I am using a Soundblaster Audigy2 system, which was so far recognized correctly by Kubuntu. I tried several configurations with the SDL-package (libsdl1.2debian-all, -pulseaudio, -alsa, etc. ...) -> no effect. When choosing audio-playback on my Kdenlive-settings, i can select "Automatic", but don't get an select option for "audio device". Only when choosing "ALSA", i can select "Standard" but nothing else as audio device. Maybe that's part of the problem. I'm not the big linux expert and at the moment i don't know how to get on with this problem. I'd be very pleased, if someone maybe has some hint for me where to go on analyzing this problem. Thanx in advance, Markus. |

Hi there,
problem is solved, but don't ask me how ... ;-) Think, it was changing back to the libsdl1.2all-driver instead of pulse-only. After restaring Ubuntu two times, sound was present. Markus. |
