Hallo,
the sc1 is easy to find in: Effects > Audio. In Kdenlive on Linux. In Windows it might be different.
But I haven't found a reasonable setting yet, unfortunately. The effect is not audible and also hardly visible in the audio meters. I am still looking, if I find a suitable setting I will be happy to share it with you.

What I do is turn on the Audio Mixer (View | Audio Mixer)

Then I add a "Volume (keyframable)" effect to each clip that is not normalized. You can change the volume of your clip with a simple slider.

Hallo to all,
now everything is different. Kdenlive 20.12 has thrown out the 6 old compressors (Dyson compressor and SC1-SC4 mono). I really appreciate the use of compressors. Only - where to find a usable compressor in Kdenlive now?
Can any of you tell me where to find them and if there is any documentation on them?
Thank you in advance

In Kdenlive 20.12 I discovered these promising filters:

Acontrast - Simple audio dynamic range compression(expansion filter
Compand - Compress or expand audio dynamic range
Loundnorm - EBU R128 loudness normalilzation
Mcompand - Multiband Compress or expand audio dynamic range

I look forward to getting to know them, but struggle to understand their functions and useful settings.
Do any of you have any experience with it?

Hello,
my latest finding: in Kdenlive all these filters are not good:
Acontrast = very simple, almost no setting options.
Compand = no threshold level
Loundnorm = no longer exists
Mcompand = no longer exists

My favorites are:
SC4 or SC1 = good Compressor = you must install: PulseAudio Equalizer (+ swh-plugins)
C* EQ4p - 4-band parametric shelving equaliser - LADAPA plugin (ladspa.2608) = good EQ, you must install: caps – The LADSPA C* Audio Plugin Suite

These filters are not perfect, but you have with them the elementary functions of a compressor and an equalizer if you want to improve the sound of the spoken voice.

If anyone knows better, please share, I would be very interested.
