export audio / stems with 24 bit?

Wed Jun 07, 2017 8:59 pm
Hi there,

I recorded an interview in 48kHz 24 bit audio and I want to move it to a DAW (Mixbus) and then back into kdenlive..

When I export the audio through the wav export menu i realized the audio will come out as just 16 bit.. same happens when i make audio stems..

Any idea what is going wrong there? There is no option to dither to 16 bit or whatsoever...

especially when moving low level recordings out of kdenlive to tweak the sound this is really bad...

is there a any way to really export "lossless" audio? any help would be great appreciated!!

This is due to MLT. 24-bit is not implemented. Everything is converted to 16-bit.

thanks for clarifying! that is too bad! I also get choppy audio and artefacts into the audio file when i export, but this again is another thing i guess.. or could also be related to the downgraded bit depth ...
