Audio gone after opening a project

Wed May 16, 2018 6:35 pm
Hi,

I've gotten a strange issue with the audio with kdenlive 18.04.0 and 18.04.1

I have a video with sound, but i also recorded the interview with a separate microphone. both on a different audiotracks. Videosound on audiotrack1 and audiosound on audiotrack2. It works great in editing and all that. The issue is when i save the project and close kdnlive. When i reopen it, the sound from audiotrack2 is gone (i still see it on the timeline, but there is no sound). I have to reimport the audiotrack to get sound back.

Is this a bug, or is it something I do wrong? I guess the latter, but what is it?

Does the sound from microphone is mono? Audiotrack2 stereo? If so it should be played on both channels. If not try with version 17.12.0.

The sound from microphone is mono, but i have also tested where I have made a sterotrack of the interview.

When i first import the audioclip, in wav, ogg, or flac (tried them all), it works. But when i closes the project, and open the project file later on, the sound is gone. It is still in the timeline, and the project bin, and it will "play", but there is no sound at all. I have to reimport the audioclip, and realign. It's problematic that i can't close the project without loosing the sound.

Same problem with kdenlive 17.12. got an error "unable to read audio thumbnail". is it something with the codec?

Check if all 5 path settings under MLT environment point to the actual Kdenlive version path. Settings -> Kdenlive settings (or ctrl + shift+ ,)-> Environment -> MLT environment.

Which operating system do you have?
