I think it'd be really neat if Kdenlive could utilise the great variety of LV2 audio effect plug-ins.

Currently it provides a small selection of old LADSPA plug-ins, that I think are built with MLT - I guess to get this to work, the LV2 support would need to be added to MLT.
I think that this feature would make Kdenlive much more powerful to work with audio, especially if the plug-in parameters could be automated, like they are with some existing effects are.

It even the LADSPA plug-ins installed in the host system could be discovered and utilised, to expand beyond the narrow selection of effects provided with MLT - that'd already be a big improvement.

What do you think about this?

Thank you for the input. LadspaV2 (LV2) is one possibility. VST audio plugins another possibility. Let’s see what is the better working for cross platforms.
