I tried to give the latest Windows beta version a spin. When I try to add an audio clip to the project, the application hangs for a moment and then exits. I tried several file both .wav and .mp3 files and all files caused this. I tried disabling audio thumbnails and waveform overlay but neither of those seemed to be the cause. Funny enough, audio already muxed in video seems to work fine, it's only when you add audio only clips/

Thanks for testing and reporting. I tried on Win7 with the Windows 19.04 beta as well. I don’t get a crash.
If you work on Win10 please update the graphic card driver and sound card driver as well. With the Win10-18.09 update it seems you need the update of these drivers. If you still have the crash please come back. |

I am on Windows 10. I was running the latest sound card drivers and just tried with updated video drivers and am still getting the crash. I rolled back to 18.12.2 and everything works fine. |

Thank you. I have uploaded 2 clips that produce the crash. All audio files I've tried reproduce the issue but video muxed into an audio container seems to work. Let me know if there is anything else I can send to assist debugging.

I too have had this exact same problem. Could not add any audio files, mp3, ogg, or wav without Kdenlive crashing.
Tried updating drivers, re-downloading kdenlive, both the install version and the standalone.. still had the same problems. I thought I might have to install linux on the machine I was using to get the edit done but I didn't have a usb stick handy. Read this forum post and downloaded the legacy version (18.12.2) and now everything works again. Just posting so we know it's not an isolated issue. |

Thank you for the feedback.
Could you make following test with 19.04.1-2: - Press Win + R (Windows key and R key simultaneously) and type appdata. Go to local and within it rename kdenliverc to kdenliverc.old. - Start Kdenlive. Do nothing. Close Kdenlive. - Start Kdenlive again and load the MP3 file. Does it still crash? |

I'm getting this crash on Arch Linux as well, effectively I can't add any .mp3 to a project, even an empty project.
The only way to get a .mp3 file into a project is to create a .mp4 containing the .mp3, then add the .mp4 to the project, and delete the video part. The .mp3 plays fine with mplayer. This is with *any* .mp3. kdenlive 19.04.1-1 $ kdenlive --mlt-log debug mlt_service_cache_get: name producer_avformat object 0x7f7744007a30 | 2019-06-03 10:41:28.919 | mlt_cache_get: get 0 = 0x7f7744007a30, 0x7f77440073b0 | 2019-06-03 10:41:28.919 | mlt_consumer.c:1589: T(wait_for_frame_queue)=10556 us | 2019-06-03 10:41:28.919 | mlt_consumer.c:856: T(mlt_consumer_get_frame)=75 us | 2019-06-03 10:41:28.919 | [filter avcolor_space] rgb24a -> yuv422 @ 1920x1080 space 709->709 [consumer sdl2_audio] Audio Opened: driver=pulseaudio channels=2 frequency=48000 | 2019-06-03 10:41:28.920 | [filter avcolor_space] yuv422 -> yuv420p @ 1920x1080 space 709->709 | 2019-06-03 10:41:28.924 | [filter deinterlace] error 0 deint 1 prog 1 fmt yuv420p method onefield | 2019-06-03 10:41:28.924 | TFF in 0 out -1 Floating point exception (core dumped) |

Thank you for reporting. I added the crashlog to issue: https://invent.kde.org/kde/kdenlive/issues/117 as we haven't found the root cause so far.
