Hi,
first things first, thank you for the great software :)

I'm using kdenlive to edit / cut a lecture (due to corona we have to record everything and we decided to put it on youtube as well, so the whole thing should be kinda clean). My workflow is to record at home with a mic, slides are on the screen, and I record with obs and then cut with kdenlive.

Now, when I redo a recording, it can happen that I'm closer to the mic or something and then the loudness is different. It's not super annoying, but if I can fix it then it'd be better ;)

I tried to use the Normalise (2 pass) effect on the whole sequence at once (it sounds like it could be better than 1 pass; I used the wand symbol right next to the A1 for the audio track). however, when i click on analyse, I get the error
Normalise (2 pass)
[filter loudness filter21] Analysis Failed: Bad frame sequence

I have something like 100 cuts (cutting the erm and pauses away). Anything I can do? Am I using it completely wrong? I tried to look for some documentation, but Google didn't find anything.

edit: just looking through the whole sequence. In one place I applied manual gain, in another there is no audio for a few frames. Would that matter?

Thanks, Adam

Do you know that you can record direct into the timeline? Right click on the audio track header -> Show Record Control -> click the red button to record.

Normalize as a track effect gets an error message but it seems to work. When you put an additional clip into the timeline you have to reset and run analyze again.

Thanks for the hint with recording directly. It's quite handy whenever i have to correct something :)

However, normalising didn't work here. I worked around it by rendering the video, opening a new project and apply normalisation for the whole video at once.

Edit: That workaround failed with a newer version of the video :/

Cheers, Adam
