I am running kdenlive on Ubuntu 20.04 It was installed via apt repo.
It is version 19.12.3
The issue is I can create a new audio track, but when I click "Show Record Controls" nothing happens. I don't have any recording icons.
If I open "Configure Recording" the window opens and I click the "Audio Tab" under "Device" I have a lot of options, but it is "Default" now.

Could I be missing a library. When I googled I see others that have a little red record button, but mine is missing.

In my track box I have a down arrow next to it A3 next to that a pencil graphic maybe, and next to that a speaker (mute) then a lock then underneath just a dialog box that want me to put a track name in, but no record button.

What am I missing?
Thanks in advanced. Let me know if I need to add anymore info

An advice i received not that long ago after other kinds of problems, solved with the laters appimage version.
I support bartoloni's advice!
