Screen Grab with no audio (windows)

Wed Jan 27, 2021 7:11 pm
Hi, I'm trying to use kdenlive to record both screen and audio. However, only video is recorded. Tried different profiles to use audio, but they do not work (maybe ffmpeg problem). When this problem occurs, screen grab does not work at all. To make it work again, (no audio), I need no reinstall kdenlive. Is there a profile I can use to record both audio and video, on Windows?
Thanks, in advance!
I love this SW!

goto settings -> configure Kdenlive -> capture -> encoding profile "x264 with audio". Click on tab audio -> make sure the correct device is selected.

Not worked.... no audio device is available to select (tab Audio).

When I try to record with audio, error message says:
"
Failed to start the capture application:
C:/Program Files/kdenlive/bin/ffmpeg.exe
"
Screen capture with video and audio in OBS works well, so I guess it is not a problem in audio configuration in windows....

Goto settings -> configure Kdenlive -> environment -> make sure all paths (FFmpeg, FFplay, FFprobe, MELT) are pointing to C:/Program Files/kdenlive/bin/ .

Still not working....
They are all pointed to "C:/Program Files/kdenlive/bin", EXCEPT for MLT profiles folder, which is pointing to "C:/Program Files/kdenlive/share/mlt/profiles" (I could not find other /profiles folder)

So the error message is gone? If so: check in Windows systray that your recording/microphone device is set as standard device (right click on the speaker icon). Then restart Kdenlive and check in settings -> configure Kdenlive -> capture -> tab "Audio" that the correct device is selected. In tab "Screen grab" I have set "Encoding profile" to "x264 with audio (also)". Then open the "screen grab" view and start recording.

What is not working is capturing the audio which is coming out of the loudspeaker. So only voice over is working.

Nope. Same error message.

This time I could see and select my internal microfone (settings -> configure Kdenlive -> capture -> tab "Audio" ). It was disabled in my windows settings.
However, the problem is still occurring. Tried in OBS and video and audio grab work fine there...
The persisten error message is:
"
Failed to start the capture application:
C:/Program Files/kdenlive/bin/ffmpeg.exe
"
This error message appear only when I select video with audio (alsa). Screengrab with muted video is working fine.
