I have been working with Kdenlive (Linux Mint 20.3) for a few years now and recently noticed that my audio tracks are no longer smooth waveforms, they look like they are 'pixelated'. Here is a picture of what I am talking about:

This is only visible when I zoom in a bit but I used to be able to zoom in completely and still see a smooth waveform rather than discrete peaks.

I started using proxy clips for some edits recently and I thought that this had something to do with that but it actually seems to be happening all of the time. I don't think I have updated Kdenlive recently so it is possible that I inadvertantly changed some setting but I haven't been doing anything I don't normally do so I can't really think of what this could be. I haven't changed my audio recorder or any audio recording settings.

This all makes it very difficult to line up audio so it would be great if somebody knows what the issue is!

No direct idea (as couldn't find yet that quick), but i guess you accidentally changed a setting?

Don't know if you have a lot of basic settings changed at wish which you would loose, but could you perhaps go back to the factory settings?
