Rendering image sequence?

Mon May 03, 2010 9:04 am
Some time ago I made a feature request for image sequence rendering - http://www.kdenlive.org/mantis/view.php?id=430. I'm starting this thread to discuss rather than clogging up the feat. req.

Is this implemented yet?
I'm trying to render to a png sequence from Kdenlive but cant get it to work at all.
Creating a new render profile with "f=image2 vcodec=png size=%widthx%height aspect=%dar" but it doesn't produce any pngs...

So, how do I render to image sequence? I really would need this soon.

In a terminal,

melt the.kdenlive -profile something -consumer avformat:foo-%05d.png vcodec=png size=640x480

You do not need f=image2 and melt does not understand the variables with % prefix.

The profiles are in /usr/share/mlt/profiles.

hello

i did test for render PNG sequence:
In the render dialog>>>new render profile
----------------------------------
group name: manuel
name profile: PNG
extention: .png
parameters:
vcodec png
----------------------------------
"-%05d" is a series numbers for sequence, example put it filename:
"hello-%05d.png"

this is worked for render to png sequence.......
BUT image png (render out) quality is LOW
:o :o

i'm not find any parameter for MAX QUALITY (native for PNG)...
any idea?

PNG is a lossless graphic compression format. You can set the compression ratio, but not the quality. So, the quality should not be worse, than the quality you put in. What do you mean by low quality?

Yes, I see the difference. And the enourmous difference in file size: Good with 573kb vs 44kb for one 1080p picture. What are the project settings?

Well, I have been on the road for a week... With kdenlive 15.04 I currently cannot render to a png sequence - kdenlive hangs, seems to be a localization problem with the filename for the pictures.

But I see a difference in the kdenlive 15.04 png settings and yours. The current png profile has these parameters:
progressive=1 vcodec=png

As referred in the profile details, the mlt documentation may be a good helper for you as well. I am sorry that I cannot do more in the moment.
