I have rendered my video fine and it is in 16:9 format. If I use the DVD Wizard to create an ISO with no menu and burn it it plays in 16:9 just fine. However if I want a menu created by the Wizard it is always in 4:3 format. Is there any way to get it to build a 16:9 format menu please? I am using kdenlive 0.7.8 on Mandriva 2010.1.

After a quick look in the code it seems to me that the format is hardcoded when using a menu.
Could you please open a bug report in our tracker? For now you might want to use a separate dvd authoring software. |

Just wondered if anything might be going to happen with the bug I created on this? It is now 12 months later and I think it would be good if we could get this resolved since I guess there are a lot of folks using 16:9 format now.

I had a look at this issue a few months earlier and the problem is not that easy to solve. We use dvdauthor to create the DVD menu and last time I looked, it was not easy to create 16:9 menus with it. Problem was that button images were stretched, resulting in ugly buttons and inaccurate coordinates. Also the behavior of 16:9 menus on 4:3 tv seemed not so straightforward, with different options (distortion, letterboxing, ...).
After reading several threads, it seemed to me that 16:9 menus with dvdauthor were not a reliable thing. Now, I may be wrong and things might have changed since, so if anyone has a good experience with dvdauthor and 16:9 menus, I am interested to hear it... |

I must admit I've not tried directly with DVDAuthor, however DVDStyler works fine creating 16:9 menus so for now exit kdenlive and created the iso with that.
